WORK (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/21/17)

WORK (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/21/17)

We all have to work. Nothing happens without it. But work is extremely more enjoyable and meaningful when it is directed toward a goal. Work for the sake of work is usually unfulfilling. It is only a means to pass time and make money. Work that results in achievement demands that we put that much more effort into it. When we’re excited about where we’re going, we are more likely to do whatever it takes to get there.

REASONS (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/19/17)
(Right-click to download)

We’ve been told that all things happen for a reason but sometimes that is hard to believe especially when you have no clue as to what the reason is and Why? Why? Why? is the question reverberating in our heads. But I’m here to tell you that nothing you experience in life is insignificant. You may not see its meaning in the moment because clarity is hard to come by in the midst of chaos. When things get chaotic, we tend to get caught up in it or start running; it’s the human physiological “fight-or-flight” reaction. But trust me, everything happens for a reason. And when the dust settles and the fog clears, that reason may become more evident. When we focus on the reason more than the experience, we develop character that produces necessary change.

Guest Post by Megha Shah: How Criticizing Others Affects Their Self-Esteem (People. Matter. 02.15.17)

Even God doesn’t judge a man until his last moments — then who are we to judge others?

More often than not, we take it for granted that people will behave and talk like we want them to. It is human nature to expect a certain kind of response from any person. Failing to get such a response, we tend to, very conveniently, tell them hurtful things — things that when told to us would result in anger and rage.  Continue reading

LOVE (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/14/17)
(Right-click to download)

We are required to love ourselves. We are commanded to love others. But no one is required to love us back. Because when we love, it should not be an obligation. When it becomes that, it ceases to carry meaning, show acceptance, and bear light. The fire and feeling that we call love is incomprehensible to our minds but perfect for our hearts and souls.

TESTED (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/12/17)

TESTED (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/12/17)

Faith, at its essence, must be tested. If it is not tested, it cannot be called faith because it will be unknown what it can stand against. This means that at times, we must be broken. We must know what it is like to wrestle and battle with external and internal forces. We must understand what it means to experience pain, suffering, and heartbreak. These experiences, that if we had the power to do so, we would simply bypass in life, are meant to build our faith.

HOPE (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/09/17)

HOPE (Live. Pray. Hustle. 02/09/17)
(Right-click to download)

Hope is an element of adversity. Hope is not a feeling; it’s a way of thinking and being. If we want to be hopeful, we have to lean in, stop running, cease avoiding pain, and let ourselves struggle. We are told to “do what makes us happy”. We are rarely told to “do what makes us grow”. Growth is a byproduct of adversity and hope is a spinoff of traveling that journey.
